The present invention relates to a system and a method for animal management that uses a collaborative platform composed of a data capture mechanism that is in communication with a smart mechanism for storage, management and processing of information and images, using artificial intelligence techniques, for managing pet animals in shared spaces (EC) and the identification/location thereof via the cross-referencing of data (images, georeferencing, etc.). In this way, it is possible to find stray animals more quickly on the basis of the photos sent by other users of the system, such as neighbours, NGOs and zoonosis departments that have had a sighting of the animal. Similarly, animals that frequent shared spaces (condominiums, parks, cities) can be identified for a variety of purposes.
